Nitrogen and Air in Tires - Difference

For a newbie it's always confusing, whether to go with Nitrogen or Air.Here I will point out something you should always keep in mind.

Nitrogen v/s Air

Let's start with some chemistry. Air contains about 78% Nitrogen, 20% Oxygen and small amount of water vapor, Carbon dioxide. Components apart from Nitrogen causes some undesired actions inside.

Change in temperature will results in the change in tire pressure, because of water vapor inside. This humidity presence will trouble you in long run. During winter tire pressure reduces and sunny days will results in increased tire pressure. Another thing you have to worry is the action of Oxygen as an oxidizing agent. It will lead to corrosion of your alloys slowly.

While comparing facts,Nitrogen filling stands tall. But coming to our daily life, more things has to be considered.Service charges and low availability of Nitrogen filling stations will trouble you.The drawbacks of Air filling are long term process, won't affect much on irregular riders.

If you are okay on spending few extra bucks, go for Nitrogen filling.
